CURE MAGA JAN26 DOUBLE PG-LINKS - Flipbook - Page 17
Let’s face it. Running a marathon isn’t for everyone. And since 2021,
thousands of you have proved there are so many other brilliant ways to
support dementia research – and had plenty of fun along the way.
Together, you’ve raised an absolutely incredible £2.6 million through our
Facebook challenges. From swimming lengths at the local pool to walking
the dog, cycling, running and knitting, you’ve shown that fundraising can be
creative, social and hugely impactful.
Our 28 Miles in February challenge invites you to walk, jog or run a mile for
every day of the month – a simple way to get moving while making a difference.
And throughout March, our Knit or Crochet Every Day challenge will bring
together crafters of every level, as they raise funds, encourage one another
and proudly share their creations in our buzzing Facebook group.
y Claire Parker made her Knit or Crochet Every Day challenge extra special
by creating Feathers McGraw (the villainous penguin from Wallace &
Gromit!) – and helped her fellow knitters to raise over £220,000 last year.
y From video-blogging journeys to completing miles abroad, fundraisers
made the 28 miles in February challenge a real adventure. Families, friends
and solo runners alike helped spread a wave of orange across the UK.
