LOVE OF MY LIFE”
When Harry Johnson met his future wife Lucy in Blackpool in 1959,
it began a love story that would last more than 60 years.
They had both gone on holiday with friends. That night, Lucy joined Harry’s
group in the Blackpool Tower Lounge. A funny and gregarious person, she
quickly made an impression. And when the others headed back to the
hotel, Harry and Lucy took a long walk along the seafront, hand-in-hand.
Harry remembers this moment as the start of everything.
Three years later, in June 1962, the couple married (it was a busy
week – Harry had just completed his army training, and also turned 21).
