We’ve just launched the Dementia Frontiers Fund – a bold, multi-millionpound global initiative designed to tackle the most urgent and complex
questions in dementia research.
This game-changing approach will bring together brilliant minds from around
the world – across science, technology, and medicine – to work together
and spark discoveries that change lives.
We brought together an international panel of scientific experts to narrow
down three critical questions that could transform the future of dementia:
y When exactly do dementia symptoms begin, and how quickly do they
progress?
y Why do some people reach old age without developing symptoms, even
when they have known risk factors?
y How exactly do the many brain changes involved in dementia interact –
and which matter most?
Addressing these questions could change everything. It would help doctors
diagnose dementia earlier, develop effective treatments, and even prevent
dementia from happening in the first place.
